Registration
What documents do I need to register as a driver?
Emirates ID, a valid UAE driving license, and (for Live Ride) a passenger transport permit. Cargo and Recovery drivers need additional commercial endorsements. You can upload everything through UAE Pass – no scanning required.
How long does verification take?
Typically 2–3 days for Ride and Rental. Cargo takes 3–5 days. Recovery takes 5–7 days because it includes a mandatory training module. You'll see live progress in the app.
Can I register for more than one service at once?
You pick one primary service to activate first. Once verified, you can add additional services from your dashboard without re-verifying your identity. Recovery requires the academy module separately.
I don't have a UAE Pass yet. Can I still register?
Yes – you can register manually by uploading photos of your Emirates ID and license. We strongly recommend setting up UAE Pass either way: payouts, document renewals, and tax docs all flow through it.
Is there an age limit to drive on TAGGO?
21 years minimum for Ride and Rental. 23 for Cargo. 25 for Recovery. Maximum age is governed by the medical fitness certificate your license issuer requires.
Payments
When do I get paid?
Weekly, every Friday at 9:00 AM GST. Payouts cover the previous Monday–Sunday earnings, net of platform fee. You can also withdraw to your in-app wallet on demand (subject to a small instant-payout fee).
What's the commission per trip?
A flat 18% on Live Ride and Cargo, 15% on Recovery, and 22% on Rental (which includes the vehicle, insurance, and fuel allowance). The exact amount is shown before you accept every trip.
What's the activation fee for?
It covers your background check, license verification, in-app and physical TAGGO ID, training materials, and equipment dispatch. It's a one-time fee – no monthly subscription.
Is the activation fee refundable?
Yes, within 14 days, if verification fails for reasons outside your control. Refunds are processed within 7 working days.
How do tips work?
100% of tips go to you, untaxed by TAGGO. Tips show up in your wallet within minutes of the trip ending and are settled with your regular weekly payout.
Drivers
Can I work on multiple platforms at once?
Yes – TAGGO is non-exclusive for Ride and Cargo drivers. Rental and Recovery contracts are typically exclusive during active hours; check the agreement when you sign up.
What happens if my rating drops?
If your trailing 30-day rating drops below 4.5, you'll get a check-in from a driver success specialist. Below 4.3, you'll be paused and offered re-training.
Can I drive part-time?
Absolutely. There's no minimum hours requirement for Ride and Cargo. Many drivers work TAGGO around primary jobs, evenings, or weekends.
Vehicles
What vehicles qualify for Live Ride?
Any sedan or SUV, four-door, less than 6 years old, with a clean Mulkiya in your name (or a fleet partner's). Must pass a 21-point inspection.
I don't own a car. What are my options?
Sign up as a Rental driver. We'll match you with a partner-supplied vehicle on a weekly contract that includes insurance, Salik, and a fuel card.
Can I list a leased vehicle?
Yes, with a no-objection letter from your leasing company. The form is available in the registration flow – TAGGO can request it on your behalf.
Are EVs eligible?
Yes, all electric vehicles are eligible. TAGGO partners with DEWA and Etihad Energy for charging credits on select models.
App usage
Does the app work offline?
Yes – limited offline mode lets you continue an active trip through tunnels and remote areas. New trips require an active connection.
Is the app available in Arabic?
Yes, fully. Arabic, English, Urdu, and Hindi. Switch any time from settings; voice navigation switches with the UI.
What's the SOS button?
A one-tap shield that broadcasts your live location to TAGGO ops, shares it with a saved emergency contact, and connects you to the 999 emergency line.
Fleet partnerships
What's the minimum fleet size to join the Partner program?
Five vehicles. Below that, you can register each driver individually. The Partner program unlocks the dashboard, consolidated payouts, API access, and an account manager.
Can I switch from individual to fleet later?
Yes – your drivers' verifications and ratings carry over. Just contact [email protected] to initiate the migration.
How does franchise territory pricing work?
Franchise fees vary by Emirate and population. Typical structures are a one-time territory fee, an annual platform license, and a revenue share.
